SJB Parishioners,
The Diocese of Shreveport will be hosting the Diocesan Rosary Congress from October 1-7, 2022. The Rosary Congress is a week long period of intense, around the clock prayer consisting of Perpetual Adoration and Hourly Rosary, offered in a spirit of reparation. We are joining with other dioceses across the nation to pray for the healing of our Church, our families and our nation (see rosarycongressusa.org). As the Church suffers from persecution from within and without, as family life is attacked more viciously than ever before, and as life continues to be threatened in its most vulnerable stages, we need this unified prayer now more than ever.
The Rosary Congress will travel to a different parish for each 24 hour period. Our parish will host the first twenty-four hours of Eucharistic Adoration and recite the rosary each hour on the hour. The Rosary Congress begins on October 1, 4pm with Bishop Malone celebrating Mass in the Cathedral. Afterwards, twenty-four hours of Adoration begins in the Chapel of St. Michael the Archangel and ends October 2 at 5pm.
I encourage all parishioners and families to sign up for one hour of Eucharistic Adoration and pray as a community the rosary. This is an opportunity for all us to evangelize and teach the children and youth about Adoration, the Real Presence of Jesus Christ in the Eucharist, the graces received and Mary, Mother of the Eucharist, who leads us to Him.
To sign up for an hour of Adoration and/or to lead the rosary, please click on the link below or call the Church Office.
Note: Rosary Leaders / Captains will receive materials to pray the rosary.
In Christ,
Fr. Peter
