The Sacrament of Baptism allows families the opportunity to delve into the sacrament in a special way – through the Baptism Seminar. Come and join other parents and Godparents as we learn more about the history of the sacrament, the rite, our roles as parents and Godparents and as Christian parents.
Parents should email Deacon John or call the Office at least three months before anticipated date of birth to make arrangements for the seminar.
Parents & Godparents are required to attend a seminar.
Our classes will be held on a new day & time – our next seminar is
SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 11, 9:00AM – 12:00pm, in the Parish Hall.
(If you are unable to attend a seminar at St. John’s, St. Joseph Catholic Church schedules baptism seminars – for information, call 318-865-3581.)
Since baptism is a celebration of new Christian life in the Body of Christ and the whole community is expected to support the child, Baptisms take place in the context of Mass or baptisms with others of the parish.
